Pacekids is an organization that’s aim is to help children with special needs through a variety of direct-treatment approaches. Kids are offered a blended education through various learning styles while at the same time helping families with their own education. Some of the success stories can be found here.
This past year has seen several successful events held in order to raise both funds and awareness of the programs including “An Evening of Enchantment” where $38,000 was raised through a fashion show and auction event.
So what are they looking for? Pacekids are looking for a Treasurer to join their Board of Directors and provide financial statement oversight as well as help with the audit process every year. Additional help with the development of the organizations internal controls, procedures, and policies is also something they are looking for. Ultimately however they are looking for someone who genuinely wants to make a difference in their community.
Meetings are held approximately once a month and generally run two hours in length. They estimate between three to five hours a month of work would be required. Volunteer Calgary has a posting for the position here.
