Behaviour Therapy and Learning Centre (BTLC)

Established in 2004, Behaviour Therapy and Learning Centre (BTLC) is a registered charitable organization providing educational programs designed to meet the unique needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental delays.  BTLC is devoted to activities that will support families in improving their child’s functional abilities and helping him/her achieve the greatest degree of independence and highest quality of life possible.

Most importantly, BTLC teaches the way children with ASD learn.

By using the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis and Discrete Trial Teaching within a group format, BTLC maximizes each child’s learning, and give them the best chance at reaching their potential.

BTLC is looking for a Treasurer to join our Board of Directors to act as a financial/accounting advisor and assist the Executive Director with the annual budgeting and auditing process as determined by Alberta Education.  They would be thrilled to find an individual that would also contribute to the work of the Board of Directors in a non-financial capacity (e.g. volunteering with our annual Silent Auction or casino) Essentially, they are looking for an individual that believes, as they do, that Big Things Can (and DO) Happen and is prepared to roll up his/her sleeves to help out!

Meetings are held once a month and generally run 1.5-2 hrs in length.  They estimate that 3-5 hours a month of work would be required (possibly more at times of large fundraising events).

If you want “on board” or just simply want to learn more about their program, contact Erin Bond, Executive Director at erinb@btlc.ca or at (403) 217-5876.
